What Happens at the Assessment Hub?
The Assessment Hub at Amrita Sinha serves as a central resource for evaluating an individual’s needs, strengths, and challenges, ensuring a clear pathway to tailored support and intervention. Our team uses evidence-based tools and collaborative approaches to create a complete picture of a person’s abilities and requirements. These assessments may include:
- Cognitive & developmental evaluations: Measuring learning styles, problem-solving abilities, attention, and memory—helping identify specific needs in children, adolescents, or adults for optimal learning and daily functioning.
- Functional skill assessments: Observing and analyzing a person’s ability to carry out everyday activities—such as self-care, mobility, and household tasks—to recommend strategies, adaptive equipment, or skill-building programs.
- Sensory processing evaluations: Identifying how an individual responds to sensory input—such as sound, touch, movement, or light—and providing targeted sensory integration techniques to improve comfort, focus, and participation.
- Mental health & psychosocial screenings: Exploring emotional well-being, coping strategies, and social interactions to recommend supports like counseling, peer-mentoring programs, or structured activity plans.
- Environmental & accessibility assessments: Reviewing the home, school, or workplace for physical and social barriers, then suggesting modifications, assistive technology, or training that enhance independence and inclusion.
